Consumer Privacy Protection Act (CPPA) has been proposed, with the aim of modernizing regulation of the commercial activities of Canadian private sector organizations and establishing more robust protections over the personal information of Canadian individuals. Bill C-11, also known as the Digital Charter Implementation Act, 2020, would repeal parts of the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act and replace them with a new legislative regime governing the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information for commercial activity in Canada.
